We’re very exited about the second band of the evening. The program schedule gave it a bit away, but the second band of the evening is Aerokorda!
Aérokorda is known for their powerful mix of Irish music with balfolk. With Pavel on the Violin, Adriaan on the guitar and Davy on the whistles and octave mandolin they bring a wide variety of self-arranged tunes where you will flow from the very fast and energetic tunes into smooth soft melodies. To top it all off, all three gentlemen also sing self composed songs mixed in with their repertoire.
Recently they produced their second album which can best be described as a mix of energetic and soft Celtic neofolk with from time to time some Slavic and baroque flavours mingled in with them. These gentlemen made an online cd releaseshow of their new album which you can find below.
Many known teachers will come over this edition to share their knowledge with us. Our regular teachers Rafael and Nele will give level 2b again. They will focus on the art of leading, following and forging a connection. Skills like how to give input in a dance as a follower and how a leader can do more than just doing the steps. This according to their very own developed style and methods.
Rafael and Nele met each other on the dance floor. They had an instant connection and have been roaming the dance world ever since. They dance for fun of course, but they also want to share their vision of dance with you, which is centered around concepts like feeling, musicality, body awareness and playing with your dance partner. They believe dancing should not be the rehearsal of reconditioned steps and moves, but they rather want to find the freedom to surf on the waves of the music while being in harmony with the other dancers.
To get an idea you can look at an old video of one of their workshops during the Dansstage:
This duo from Belgium played for the last time in 2018 at the Dansstage and we’re welcoming them back in 2022. We talking about the loved Naraginia! This duo, consisting of Toon van Mierlo and Pascal Rubens has mastered many tunes and many instruments. Their broad repertoire of sounds will never bore any dancer or listener! To get a bit into the mood you can listen to a sample here:
Apart from this great band we have another announcement to make. Registering for the Dansstage open up on Sunday 16 January at 1 pm. From that moment you can register for the level that you want to follow. You can also register for a place in the log cabins, apply for the first aid team or the voluntary team and report your dietary requests. Unfortunately due to the corona situation all this is uncertain untill the last moment, but hope with us that we’ll be able to host a wonderful Dansstage.
